COVID-19 Precautions, Standards, and Safety
March 25th, 2020
Call the Car is committed to following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, caused by the coronavirus. The safety and wellbeing of our employees, vendors, and the members we serve, is our highest priority.
Our drivers and vendors are instructed to practice the below standards to ensure the health and safety of our passengers and reduce the risk of transmission:
-
Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects, including door handles and seat belts, before transporting a new passenger. New disposable gloves are used during each cleaning and immediately disposed of after each use.
-
Offering facemasks, when available, for patients/caregivers to wear if a patient is sick or is caring for someone who is sick.
-
Turning off air recirculation and opening vents in both the driver and passenger compartments to maximize air changes which reduces potentially infectious particles in the vehicle.
-
If available, drivers wear a single pair of disposable gloves during transport and change gloves if they become torn or contaminated, in addition to changing gloves between rides.
-
Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using an alcohol-based sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol), if available, when using soap and water is not possible.
-
Avoiding touching eyes, nose, or mouth with hands.
-
Staying home when not feeling well, regardless of symptoms.
-
Covering mouth with a tissue when coughing and/or sneezing and disposing the tissue immediately.
Call the Car is complying with the most recent standards set by the CDC and will make adjustments as new information becomes available.
Our goal is to lower the risk of transmission and ensure the safety our passengers, vendors, employees, and their families.
